This week has felt as though our lives here at the Davidson household were, much like a game of Mario Kart, put on pause. No school, no errands, no P.T.A even. Just 4 big walls, 2 bored kids, and 1 stir crazy mommy.
Why you ask? My big guy Cameron had his tonsils and adenoids removed to, hopefully, help his sleep apnea. During the surgery, aside from Mommy and Daddy's occasional moments of panic, everything went smoothly, thank God! He was so so brave and I am so proud of how well he has handled it all.
Sometimes it takes these types of moments for me to realize just how many great people care about my family. All of the warm thoughts and prayers have meant so much and I am truly grateful to have their care and support.
One moment in particular meant so much to, not only myself but more importantly to Cameron, that I am eager to share it. Thursday afternoon as we were all, you guessed it, doing nothing, our doorbell rang. It was Cameron's wonderful teacher Mrs. Jones, with 25 nicely decorated get well cards from each student in his class. Very excited, I got Cameron from bed to say hello. The look on his face when she told him everyone missed him and wants him to feel better soon almost brought me to tears. He was so surprised by her visit and clearly felt so special that all his friends were thinking about him. I think it was one of those moments he will always remember.
