I feed them, bathe them, take care of their every need and this is how they repay me?! All I needed was to make a simple phone call, 3 minutes, and that is all it took. I had a feeling they were up to no good, the silence in the house told me....troubles a-brewin'. Christian was pretending he was Santa (hence the hat) and apparently they both thought it would be funny to decorate Santa with a marker. I knew it was the wrong reaction, but all I could do was laugh.

Homemade Gummi Candy

In a desperate search to find a way to occupy the boys this week I stumbled upon this great idea.....HOMEMADE GUMMI BEARS! They are so yummy and soooo easy to make. The kids loved pulling them from the molds to reveal the gummy goodness. Give 'em a try.
All we needed was 1 -3 oz box of flavored gelatin and 2 - 1/4 oz packages of unflavored gelatin, water and candy molds. (we used three candy molds)

Place 1/3 cup water in a small sauce pan. Sprinkle the Jello and unflavored gelatin over the water. Let sit 5 - 10 minutes.
Place sauce pan over medium heat and stir until gelatin is dissolved, about 2-5 minutes. When mixture is liquid and all gelatin has dissolved, remove from heat. Let cool a minute and then pour into a container that is easy to pour from. Then fill the molds.

Allow to cool completely, about 20 minutes. They may be placed in a refrigerator for about 10 minutes if the kids just can't wait.
Then, just peel them from their molds. Easy as pie...or candy!

Must..get...organized

Now that soccer, football, and wrestling are officially done for now, I must find the time to get our dinnertime undercontrol. I would be delighted to never look at a burrito or hamburger again (or at least until the next sport comes along- darn you baseball).
Today I stumbled upon a website that is all about getting your life organized. It is chalk full of great ideas and methods. For example, Menu Plan Mondays. There are over 300 women that post their week long menus to share along with great recipies.
So here's my thought....I make myself plan my menu out on Sundays, grocery store every Monday, and post it to my blog (thereby making me follow through out of pure guilt), and my family will be organized for the week! No more, "Honey, whats for dinner?". I'll let you know how it goes.
Monday: Stuffed Bell Peppers & Tomatoes, Mashed Potatoes
Tuesday: Top Sirloin, oven roasted vegis, jasmine rice
Wednesday: Chicken Fettucini Alfredo, broccoli, garlic bread
Thursday: Beef and broccoli stir fry, salad
Friday: Orange chicken, mixed vegis, jasmine rice
Saturday: Chicken tortilla soup, salad, cornbread
Sunday: Pork chops, scalloped potatoes, salad

What a week
This week has felt as though our lives here at the Davidson household were, much like a game of Mario Kart, put on pause. No school, no errands, no P.T.A even. Just 4 big walls, 2 bored kids, and 1 stir crazy mommy.
Why you ask? My big guy Cameron had his tonsils and adenoids removed to, hopefully, help his sleep apnea. During the surgery, aside from Mommy and Daddy's occasional moments of panic, everything went smoothly, thank God! He was so so brave and I am so proud of how well he has handled it all.
Sometimes it takes these types of moments for me to realize just how many great people care about my family. All of the warm thoughts and prayers have meant so much and I am truly grateful to have their care and support.
One moment in particular meant so much to, not only myself but more importantly to Cameron, that I am eager to share it. Thursday afternoon as we were all, you guessed it, doing nothing, our doorbell rang. It was Cameron's wonderful teacher Mrs. Jones, with 25 nicely decorated get well cards from each student in his class. Very excited, I got Cameron from bed to say hello. The look on his face when she told him everyone missed him and wants him to feel better soon almost brought me to tears. He was so surprised by her visit and clearly felt so special that all his friends were thinking about him. I think it was one of those moments he will always remember.

Another one of my hairbrain ideas
Those who know me are painfully aware that I never sit still. I am always Mommy (24/7 people), a wife, an avid crafter, a school volunteer, a P.T.A board member, it seems like the list goes on and on. The point is that I hardly allow myself to just do nothing. And now, I've recently decided to add a new hobby to my ever-expanding list; blogging.
I am excited to write about my happy family and our day to day craziness. Ultimately I want to use this blog as a creative way to keep in touch with family and friends through photos, stories, inner-monologues and updates.
So cross your fingers and say a prayer, cause here I go!
